Tim Burton’s style is unmistakable. His films are honestly pretty creepy, but also have a certain morbidly alluring charm that draws audiences in and keeps them coming back for more. In honor of the film master’s birthday this week, here are five of his standout movies ranked from best to worst!. They say “life begins at 40,” so I’m going with Batman Returns as my favorite movie by Tim Burton! It has everything you love about a Tim Burton-style story: humor, heartbreak and dark twists at every turn. If you haven’t seen it yet or if it somehow slipped your mind after watching some other badass movies like Edward Scissorhands or Beetlejuice then check out one of these classic works today on Netflix!

All Tim Burton movies are a must-watch for any movie fan. These five films are the best of what he has to offer.

Tim Burton unquestionably has his own distinct aesthetic. For decades, his stories of fantasy, monsters, and superheroes have enthralled audiences. His films exposed us to unique people, and his dark, gothic storylines established him as one of the industry’s top directors.

Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and composer Danny Elfman are among his regular collaborators, demonstrating that many of Hollywood’s top names are constantly seeking for a reason to participate on a Tim Burton picture. His films have the impression of being from another universe at times – in a good way. His tales are unique, and he has the ability to make even the most heinous people endearing.

VIDEO OF THE DAY ON MOVIEWEB

Burton was born in Burbank, California, and started producing movies in his backyard when he was quite young. He had a fascination for stop motion animation from the beginning, which can be observed in many of his works. He continued his character animation studies at the California Institute of the Arts, where he created the short film Stalk of the Celery Monster, which caught Walt Disney’s notice. Burton went on to work as a concept artist on a number of animated features, including The Fox And The Hound and The Black Cauldron. With his short film Frankenweenie, Burton piqued Paul Reubens’ interest, and he secured the position to helm his first feature picture, Pee-Big wee’s Adventure. It’s all downhill from there.

Burton is now working on a number of intriguing projects, including the Netflix series Wednesday and the sequel to Beetlejuice. Let’s take a look at five of his finest flicks before then.

5Batman

Batman

Burton addressed the classic comic book narrative of Batman in 1989, paving the path for all of today’s superhero flicks. Despite producers’ objections, Michael Keaton was cast as the caped crusader. Several A-list actors auditioned for the position, but Keaton, who was recognized for his humorous parts at the time, was finally cast.

Burton has previously remarked that Keaton’s piercing brilliant eyes were a key factor in obtaining the role. As the frightening Joker, Jack Nicholson steals the show, and the pairing of him and Keaton creates a great superhero film.

The film was a box office hit, and Burton went on to helm the sequel Batman Returns, which starred Michael Keaton as Batman and Danny Devito as The Penguin. Burton’s dark and animated filming style worked wonders in bringing the popular comic book to life on the big screen.

4Ed Wood

Ed Wood

This historical movie from 1994 recounts the exploits of legendary director Ed Wood, portrayed superbly by Johnny Depp. Burton found the quirky director to be an ideal subject for a biography. Wood was notorious for his bizarre films, which were often panned by reviewers owing to his lack of skill. Wood, with the support of actor Bela Lugosi (Martin Landau) and his dedicated staff, was able to make the pictures he desired over all obstacles.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Patricia Arquette, and Bill Murray round out the group. Wood, like Burton, was a true original who marched to the beat of his own drum. Ed Wood was a critical and commercial triumph, winning two Academy Awards.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) (Sweeney Todd:

Sweeney Todd

Fans were overjoyed when it was announced that Tim Burton will be tackling the critically acclaimed Broadway musical. Burton chose Sweeney Todd as the ideal musical to adapt. The dark, gothic plot fits wonderfully with Burton’s approach, and Sweeney Todd, played by Johnny Depp, was cast as the starring role. Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Alan Rickman are among the ensemble cast’s numerous talents.

The traditional narrative of the serial killer barber who slices his clients’ necks with a straight razor is masterfully told in this video. Mrs. Lovett, who notoriously grinds up the dead in her meat pie business, is played by Bonham Carter. The iconic music of Stephen Sondheim works beautifully on the big screen, and the film received three Academy Award nominations.

2Beetlejuice

Beetlejuice

Beetlejuice is perhaps Burton’s most well-known film. The film is a complete original, complete with music, endearing characters, and incredible practical effects. The classic narrative follows a dead couple, portrayed by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis, whose lives are turned upside down when an eccentric family comes into their house.

The ghost couple enlists the aid of Beetlejuice, a demon portrayed excellently by Michael Keaton. As a result of the chaos, the pair goes on a bizarre journey into the underworld. The film offers a unique take on a ghost tale with a tremendous heart at its core.

Lydia, a gothic and nonconforming kid, is finally given to the couple as a surrogate mother and father (Winona Ryder). Beetlejuice is a nonstop thrill ride from start to finish, and Keaton’s wonderfully unhinged performance is the film’s driving force. Burton is now working on a sequel to the film, which has become a popular Broadway musical.

Edward Scissorhands (Edward Scissorhands) (Edward Scissorhand

Edward Scissorhands

Tim Burton’s 1990 fantasy picture Edward Scissorhands is a narrative that could only be told by him. The plot follows Edward (Johnny Depp), a guy who was created but never completed by his maker. Edward possesses razor-sharp scissors instead of hands. Edward is spotted by Peg (Diane West), a charming saleswoman, and he navigates the odd suburban area, finally falling in love with Peg’s daughter Kim (Winona Ryder).

Edward is awestruck by other teens, yet he is unable to be acknowledged as one of them. Edward works as a barber and gardener in the neighborhood, but his true desire is for Kim’s affection. It’s a sweet but bleak story about a misfit with a wonderful heart who can never fit into society because he’s so different.

Danny Elfman once again proves why he is one of the top composers in the industry with a gorgeous and haunting music. The vibrant scenery and zany side characters all come together to present this one-of-a-kind story.

Tim Burton is an American film director, producer, artist, animator, writer and actor. His films are noted for their dark humor, surrealism, artistic style and distinctive visual aesthetic. Reference: tim burton characters.
