The Jacksonville Jaguars have gone from being one of the top defenses in football to being a bottom-5 defense. Players like defensive lineman Chris Smith and linebacker Telvin Smith are unhappy with the team, who is now just 6-18 since Gus Bradley was fired. The Jaguars will likely be looking for their next head coach after Week 17’s matchup against the New York Giants—but what might come as a surprise is that some players think they should wait until 2020, when new general manager David Caldwell takes over before deciding on his replacement.

The “urban meyer trevor lawrence quote” is a quote from the Jaguars Rookie Trevor Lawrence. He said that he deserves to pick his next head coach after the Urban Meyer debacle.

After a rocky start with the Jacksonville Jaguars, head coach Urban Meyer was fired less than a year after joining the organization. Meyer’s resignation necessitates a significant choice about his successor. Trevor Lawrence, the Jaguars’ rookie quarterback, has taken a hard position on his participation in the hunt for a new head coach.

Urban Meyer is no longer with the Jaguars.

Meyer’s time in Jacksonville wasn’t long in coming to an end.

The 57-year-old was unable to develop a solid culture or atmosphere in addition to unable to achieve any success. Meyer was released by the Jaguars less than a year into his five-year deal due to a series of behind-the-scenes events.

He was apparently arguing with his coaches and players, and some of his assistants were reportedly referred to as “losers.” He was also accused of forcefully kicking Josh Lambo, the team’s former kicker. The franchise was inspired by a video that surfaced of him having a lap dance from a lady who wasn’t his wife at a pub.

Lawrence’s public statements pleading with Meyer to maintain James Robinson as the starter were the last straw. The red flags mounted, prompting the Jaguars to terminate the contract.

All of this influenced the rookie quarterback to take a forceful position in the head coaching hunt.

After the Urban Meyer fiasco, Jaguars rookie Trevor Lawrence believes he is entitled to choose his next head coach.

The whole Meyer saga placed rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence in a terrible predicament.

The Clemson graduate has struggled in his rookie season, with his sloppy performance exacerbated by incessant head coaching upheaval. Lawrence maintains a professional demeanor in public while expressing his desire to find some kind of good path.

According to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco, the youngster stated, “I wouldn’t believe you if you told me this is how this year was going to go.” “I believe that (the coaching change) gives the men in the locker room a little more clarity.” I wouldn’t say it’s a relief, but it does provide some clarity and direction for the future.”

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the broadcast crew of Andrew Catalon and James Lofton for Sunday’s game reported that the Jaguars’ rookie expressed his desire to have a say in the future head coach during their production meeting. It’s not uncommon for a player to get engaged in some way, but it’s usually a process handled exclusively by the front office.

Lawrence, on the other hand, represents the franchise’s future, therefore his connection with the next hiring is critical. The Jaguars will almost certainly include him in some way to keep him on board with whatever route owner Shad Khan and the front management select.

Trevor Lawrence’s future will be the focus of the Jaguars’ next coaching hiring.

Lawrence’s debut season hasn’t been particularly encouraging, but the internal turmoil hasn’t helped matters.

The Jaguars have a youthful roster that, with the correct coaching and culture, could make huge leaps ahead. Lawrence is gaining much-needed experience, although in a frustrating manner, but it serves as a foundation for him to develop and mature.

Several famous coaching candidates with offense backgrounds will emerge in Jacksonville. Coaches like Byron Leftwich, Josh McDaniels, and Eric Bieniemy might be on the chopping block.

Aside from that, with the next head coach hiring, the Jaguars have the franchise’s destiny in their hands.
